Memorial Congregational Church’s annual Spring Concert on May 3 will feature the music of Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams. The centerpiece of the concert will be Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, a cantata for soloists, choir, and organ, which was composed in 1943 and based on the poem Jubilate Agno by Christopher Smart (1722–1771). The poem, written while Smart was in an asylum, depicts idiosyncratic praise and worship of God by all created beings and things, each in its own way.

Soloists will be J.P. Christian Milde, tenor; Rebekah Alexander, soprano; and Alison McLellan, mezzo-soprano. Organist will be Jeannette McLellan, and a combined choir with singers from Memorial Congregational Church of Sudbury, St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church of Acton, and members from the greater Sudbury-Wayland community. Cathy Meyer, Music Minister of Memorial Congregational Church, will conduct.

About Our Church

We unite for the worship of God every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (9:30 a.m. in July and August), and childcare and youth programming is provided.

On Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm, join us at "The Well," a refreshing worship service based on conversation and contemplation.

When you enter MCC you will find a warm greeting without any pressure. Our members and friends span generations and lifestyles. Come as you are: wearing jeans or suits; comfortable in your faith or full of questions.

We can't wait to meet you!
